2.3. components of armoured cable

armoured cables consist of six primary component
 
  1. Conductor: The conductor carries the electrical current and is typically made of copper or aluminum.
  2. Insulation: The insulation layer, often made of cross-linked Polyethylene (XLP or XLPE), provides high insulation resistance, dielectric strength, and low dielectric constant.
  3. Inner sheath: The inner sheath is made of PVC.
  4. Armour: The armour is made of wire or steel belt.
  5. Outer sheath: The outer sheath is made of PVC.
  6. Filler: The filler is used to fill the gaps between the cable cores
